Roma’s big wish for the upcoming January window is to reinforce their midfield by finally signing former Primavera player Davide Frattesi who has had an impressive start to his second consecutive Serie A campaign with Sassuolo.
According to Il Tempo, Roma never abandoned the negotiating table despite talks for a summer transfer collapsed due to Sassuolo’s exceeding demands for the Italian midfielder.
Now, the Giallorossi – with General Manager Tiago Pinto being a personal admirer of Frattesi – are expected to re-enter talks with Sassuolo, represented by their director, Giovanni Carnevali.
Roma still hold a 30% sell-on clause on Frattesi, and are once again willing to discuss the possible addition of youngsters Edoardo Bove and Cristian Volpato in an eventual deal.
