Roma have opened discussions to make Mile Svilar their long-term first-choice goalkeeper.
After being given the chance to start repeatedly ahead of the veteran Rui Patricio, Svilar has continued to impress under Roma boss Daniele De Rossi and is now in talks to become the Giallorossi’s long-term starting option in goal.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Roma are in a hurry to get a new contract ready for Svilar who at the moment has the lowest salary on Roma’s roster – the 24-year-old earns roughly €700,000.
The player and his entourage are ready to meet with Roma CEO Lina Souloukou in the following weeks to discuss a new contract that would entail a higher salary and a longer date of expiry.
Svilar’s current contract is set to run out in 2027, but Roma want to extend it further until the end of 2028.
