One of the few bright spots this season for Roma has been the emergence of young midfielder Ebrima Darboe. The 19 year-old made his senior debut earlier this month against Sampdoria and has featured regularly for the club since.
In the four starts since his debut, Darboe has dazzled in midfield, providing much-needed balance and work rate. His most recent performance against Lazio even led to manager Paulo Fonseca singling him out after the Giallorossi defeated their bitter rivals.
“We look much improved since Ebrima’s introduction, he’s young and plays with a ton of courage,” he stated.
With his transformation into a critical piece, Roma want to hand the youngster a new contract to keep him at the club long-term.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Tiago Pinto, Roma’s General Director, is already working on an improved deal for Darboe after multiple clubs from England have inquired about him.
