Roma ready to submit another bid for Smalling this week

The Guardian has reported that Roma are stepping up their pursuit of Manchester United central defender Chris Smalling.

Their report states that the Giallorossi are expected to submit another bid for the 30 year-old this week after their latest offer of 12 million was rejected by the Red Devils.

The Premier League side are asking over 20 million for the defender, who enjoyed a successful spell in the Italian capital last season on loan.

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca said last weekend that he wanted the former England international in his squad for the 2020-21 campaign and that he is confident that they will eventually be able to land him on a permanent deal.
