Edoardo Bove, the 19-year-old Primavera midfielder, has taken everybody by surprise over the course of preseason, Tiago Pinto and José Mourinho included.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi wanted to include Bove as part of the deal for Eldor Shomurodov.
Early on in the negotiations for the Uzbekistan international, Genoa approached Roma asking for the young Primavera midfielder, to which Roma said: No.
The Roman club do not want to let go of Bove. In fact, the only solution that General Manager Tiago Pinto is currently considering for the 19-year-old midfielder is a loan, where the youngster would be guaranteed playing time.
After their friendly from a couple of weeks ago, Triestina came knocking on Roma’s door, looking to bring in Bove on loan. However, Mourinho wants to keep the Primavera player as part of the first team at least until Roma find the necessary reinforcement for the midfield.
With talks for Xhaka collapsing recently, Roma are keeping their Primavera talent close by.
