Roma have reportedly declined Milan’s first proposal for Nicolo Zaniolo.
The Rossoneri are the latest club to join the race for the 23-year-old who is pushing to leave the Italian capital within the next few days.
After holding talks with Zaniolo’s entourage, Milan director Paolo Maldini approached Roma with an offer for a loan with an obligation to buy for around €22 million including add-ons, reports Sky Sport.
The obligation, however, would be heavily dependent on Milan qualifying for next year’s Champions League and the number of appearances made by the young attacker.
Roma, however, reiterated their lack of interest in any proposal that is not a permanent deal with a fee of €35-40 million.
