Roma released an Explanatory Report from the Board of Directors on their official website outlining the financial performance of the Giallorossi for the first nine months of the 2018/2019 financial year. Here is the statement:
“The first nine months of the 2018/19 financial year are characterized by participation in the UEFA Champions League, which generated proceeds totaling €67 million, compared to €67.6 million earned in the first nine months of the 2017/18 financial year, and from proceeds earned from sponsorships with Qatar Airways, Hyundai and Betway, who were not present during the first nine months of the 2017/18 financial year, which equal a total of €13.5 million.
Personnel costs are up compared to the nine months of the previous year at around €22.4 million. Finally, there was a positive result in the operational management of players (transfer market operations), which generated a net income of €71.3 million (compared to €3.2 million in the nine months of the previous year).
In reference to the above, total revenues amounted to €244.6 million (compared to €162 million on 31 March 2018), while EBITDA as of 31 March 2019 is positive result of €58.7 million (compared to €16.8 million as of 31 March 2018), with an increase of around €41.9 million compared to the first nine months of the previous year.
The economic result of A.S. Roma S.p.A. as of 31 March, 2019 is a total of -€23.4 million, compared to -€38.8 million during the same period of the previous year — resulting in a positive net change of around €15.4 million”.
