Roma remain Chris Smalling’s priority despite interest from Juventus, Tottenham, Inter

Andy Mattioli

Chris Smalling continues to draw interest from Italy and abroad as his future in the Italian capital remains uncertain.

The English defender’s contract with the Giallorossi is set to expire in June of next year and the club do not hold an option that would guarantee his stay beyond this season.

Smalling, on the other hand, has an option which he can make use of after reaching 50% of all season appearances.

For the time being, the player is consulting with his entourage who have been approached by the likes of Juventus, Tottenham, Inter and Toronto over the past weeks, reports Corriere dello Sport.

However, Roma remain Smalling’s priority. The club are pushing for him to pen an additional extension with a slightly lower salary due to the player’s age.
