Roma are working to sign Tommaso Baldanzi, the Empoli starlet that caught Juve by storm in last night’s 1-1 draw.

The 20-year-old midfielder is Roma’s ideal fit as the back-up to Paulo Dybala in this January window.

Over recent days, Roma have been closely working with Baldanzi’s entourage to enable him to complete a move to the capital before the transfer deadline.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, the deal is quite complicated given Empoli’s demands. However, Roma are determined to reach an agreement with all parties.

The Giallorossi are said to be in close contact with Beppe Riso – Baldanzi’s agent – as they study the most fitting offer with the most fitting formula of a loan with obligation to buy after 18 months.

This way, Roma would be able to match Empoli’s pricetag of €25 million over an extended period of time with separate payments.
