Roma remain interested in Napoli’s Maksimović

Napolo defender Nikola Maksimović is one of the names that could depart from the Partenopei this summer as Roma remain very interested in the Serbian.

The 28 year-old has been considered expendable by manager Gennaro Gattuso and it’s appearing increasingly likely that he could leave Napoli after four seasons.

The Giallorossi are keen to revamp the central defender department: they have already bid farewell to Mert Çetin and are also likely to sell Juan Jesus and Federico Fazio.

The main priority at the moment remains finding an agreement with Manchester United for Chris Smalling, but the Englishman’s potential return to the club does not rule out a potential move for Maksimović, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
