Roma want to reinforce several positions this summer for new manager, José Mourinho.

Even though the Giallorossi already have several options at central defender, they’re reportedly still interested in acquiring additions at the back.

According to Corriere dello Sport, one of the players that Roma executive Tiago Pinto has his eyes on is Manchester City central defender and Dutch international Nathan Aké.

The 26 year-old played less than 1,000 minutes for the Citizens this past season due to multiple injuries and the emergence of Rúben Dias. He missed nearly thirty matches due to a hamstring injury and ultimately fell down in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order.

Pinto is studying transfer formulas in order to possibly bring Aké to the Italian capital, including a potential loan with an option to buy deal.

The Dutchman has already drawn interest from fellow English clubs, but Roma could look to move quickly in order to see off competition for his signature.
