Roma are reportedly eyeing Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi – the player was a step away from leaving Bergamo in the summer and is now projected to part ways with Gasperini’s team as a free agent in the summer.
According to Italian journalist Francesco Balzani, the Giallorossi will be the first ones to contact the Ukrainian international’s entourage ahead of his free agency. Malinovskyi’s difficult relationship with Gian Piero Gasperini has now excluded any idea of renewing his contract with Atalanta.
Several other clubs are interested in the Serie A vet, including West Ham, Marseille and Napoli.
Malinovskyi is expected to seek a salary increase from his current earnings of around €1 million. His entourage will likely demand over €2 million, a fee which Roma are willing to cover for a player of Malinovskyi’s caliber.
