Roma are reportedly concerned with Chris Smalling’s recent injury woes.
The English centreback has been sidelined for the past two months with a chronic case of acute tendenitis.
A timeline for his return is yet to be established as Smalling flew to London for a medical consultation with renowned sports surgeon Andy Williams.
As a result of Smalling’s unclear status at the age of 34 years old, calciomercato.com claims the capital club have began searching for a valid replacement in the January window.
Roma are said to be monitoring various players for the position including Spurs defender Eric Dier, Genoa’s Radu Dragusin and Salzburg Oumar Solet.
