Roma are looking to strengthen their defence for the upcoming campaign with Marash Kumbulla’s future yet to be sorted as the Albanian centre-back continues to be at the center of several transfer rumors linking him, among others, with Fiorentina and Torino.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the capital club are seeking an additional defender regardless of Kumbulla’s stay in the capital.
The Italian newspaper claims that if Kumbulla were to leave in this window, Roma would then try and sign a big name for the defense.
Otherwise, the capital club will look to add a functional rotation piece that will enable Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez and Gianluca Mancini to rest more often throughout the season.
The latest names for the defence Roma have been in talks with are Man United’s Eric Bailly and free agent Dan-Axel Zagadou.
