Roma are said to be on the verge of appointing Monza technical director Francois Modesto as their next sporting director.
The Frenchman – who previously worked for Olympiakos alongside current Roma CEO Lina Souloukou – has reportedly impressed the capital club who are ready to offer him a long-term position in the Italian capital.
According to Il Messaggero, safe for unexpected surprises, Modesto’s appointment will be made official within the next few weeks as the month of April will represent a hectic moment for decision-making within the structures of Roma.
The newspaper also claims that Modesto – through his initial discussions with the Giallorossi – has made it clear that he does not wish to work in the spotlight; in other words, Modesto prefers to work behind the scenes and rarely show himself to the cameras.
Therefore, Roma are now said to be looking for an additional executive who could be paired with Modesto and be more of a spokesperson for the club, mediating between the media, the pitch and Modesto’s work in recruitment and scouting.
