Roma stall Calafiori’s transfer to Cagliari

According to the latest rumors, Calafiori’s transfer to Cagliari has been put on hold.

Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport reports that the deal, which had been finalized over the last week, has been put on hold by the Giallorossi for a variety of reasons.

General Manager Tiago Pinto wants to secure the signing of Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles first before letting the youngster go on loan.

Moreover, Roma also want to make sure Spinazzola’s recovery has reached a happy ending with the Italian full-back returning at Mourinho’s complete disposal by the end of the month.

Only then will Riccardo Calafiori be allowed to join Mazzarri’s side. In the meantime, the 19-year-old is expected to train regularly alongside the rest of the team.
