Roma still far from Guedes deal, Valencia want only cash for the attacker

Despite months of speculation in addition to weeks of transfer negotiations, the club future of Valencia attacker Gonçalo Guedes is still in the balance.

The Portuguese international quickly became one of Roma’s top targets for this summer after he expressed his desire to leave the Spanish side.

Despite his wish for an exit, Valencia are doing everything they can to keep hold of the ex-Benfica man—whose contract with the club expires in June 2024.

There’s been numerous discussions between Roma and the La Liga outfit, however, very little progress has been made in reaching a potential agreement.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, the Spaniards only want cash for the attacker and have rejected Roma’s attempts to insert players into the deal.

For the moment, the Giallorossi aren’t willing to meet the cash demands of Valencia—creating an opening for interested Premier League sides to potentially sign Guedes.
