Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, who was heavily pursued in the winter months by Roma, is on the verge of completing a free transfer to Aston Villa.
The 22 year-old will join Steven Gerrard’s side once his contract with the French giants ends next month. He’ll join Villa after initially drawing interest from the Giallorossi, Manchester United, and Newcastle United.
Though, his decision could have a ripple effect within the English side, namely regarding the status of midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Roma have long admired the 24 year-old and even held talks with the midfielder’s representatives during the winter transfer window.
Giallorossi boss José Mourinho wants to overhaul his midfield this summer and considers the Brazilian an ideal fit. Tiago Pinto, the capital club’s transfer chief, is expected to reignite the club’s pursuit of the player in the coming weeks.
