Roma are yet to determine the exact return date for Chris Smalling who has been out of action for two and a half months.
The English centreback is said to have sped up the recovery process by undergoing new methods physiotherapy.
However, he has still not overcome the chronic knee injury that’s been affecting him for the past few months.
According to Il Tempo, Roma – and Mourinho in particular – are increasingly worried about Smalling’s future in the team as the 34-year-old has shown no signs of improvement ahead of an immensely busy December schedule.
The Giallorossi are thus monitoring options on the transfer market in order to further strengthen their defense.
