Roma are determined to secure a new club for Chris Smalling.

The English centreback is on his way out of the capital club after a season spent largely on the sidelines due to injuries.

In their ensuing summer revolution, Roma wish to considerably slash the wage bill.

As a result, the club are likely to get rid of expensive, older players, with Chris Smalling at the forefront of this new club initiative.

Smalling’s contract is set to expire next year and his wages are deemed too high given his scarce output over the course of the last year.

As a result, Roma are trying to find him a team abroad, but at the moment the offers are lacking, reports Corriere dello Sport.
