Roma has officially submitted an appeal to UEFA seeking to lower Nicolo Zaniolo’s three-match ban to two.

Il Tempo reports the Giallorossi presented the petition earlier today in the hopes the attacker will be available for next week’s decisive group stage match in Rome versus Bulgarian side Ludogorets.

The two teams are level on seven points—putting Roma in a must-win situation if they want to advance to the Europa League knockout stage.

Zaniolo received the ban in response to the red card he received during the latter stages of Roma’s loss to Real Betis on October 6th at the Stadio Olimpico.
