Roma are locked in negotiations for Atletico Madrid winger Rodrigo Riquelme.

The Giallorossi have reportedly found their new desired reinforcement in 24-year-old Riquelme who is coming off a remarkable campaign for Diego Simeone’s side.

Over the past season, Riquelme excelled in all competitions for Atletico, collecting an impressive tally of 47 appearances.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma are serious in their pursuit of Riquelme who is a concrete target.

The capital club have already made contact with the player’s entourage.

Riquelme is said to have given his full availability for a move to the Eternal City.

Roma are now engaged in negotiations with Atletico.

As reported by the newspaper, the Giallorossi submitted their first bid in recent days.

The offer was of €20 million but Atletico’s asking price is closer to €30 million.

Negotiations are difficult but Roma intend to try and progress in the coming days.

Certainly the operation is facilitated by Riquelme’s low salary (800 thousand euros) and who would earn no more than 1.5 million with the Giallorossi, at least initially.
