Roma have not given up in their pursuit of Manchester United defender Chris Smalling.

The Englishman has made it very clear that he wants to return to the Italian capital after having spent last season on loan there.

Roma and Manchester United have been engaged in negotiations for several months but have yet to find an agreement for the 30 year-old, but talks are continuing.

Sky Sport reports that the Giallorossi have submitted a new offer today to the Red Devils for Smalling worth €15 million plus bonuses.

The ball has now passed to the hands of Manchester United, who must decide whether or not they will accept it.

The Giallorossi are willing to wait a few more days for Smalling, who is the main target of manager Paulo Fonseca — but should the Premier League side reject the new offer, they will change objectives and go for a different central defender.
