Roma target Marcos Leonardo of Santos is once again linked with other top clubs ahead of the January window.

Having been rumored as Roma’s main priority for January following failed negotiations with Santos in the summer, Leonardo is reportedly being eyed by Real Madrid and Newcastle United.

The 20-year-old’s recent performances have put him on the radar of top clubs in Europe and thus the player is now further away from landing a potential move to Roma.

In fact, ANSA reports that the Giallorossi have not made any steps forward in their negotiations with Santos.

Roma’s offer from the summer was rejected by the Brazilian side who made it a priority to keep Leonardo until the end of their campaign.

Now, the lights may have become too bright for the Giallorossi to be able to compete with the likes of Real Madrid and Newcastle United.
