The Giallorossi’s recent victory in Helsinki against HJK marked Stephan El Shaarawy 50th goal with Roma colours. The Italian attacker also celebrated his 30th birthday and is now looking to continue making an impact as a valuable option for Mourinho in Paulo Dybala’s absence.
According to La Repubblica, the capital club are considering the player’s contract renewal. El Shaarawy is set to become a free agent in June next, but Roma have included a clause in his current contract which is set to trigger an option until 2024.
For Mourinho, El Shaarawy is a versatile alternative to the several attackers at his disposal. The Portuguese manager is reportedly the first one pushing for the ex-Milan’s extension.
