Roma are hoping to shortly address the future of Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker is nearing the end of his loan in the Italian capital and this has made him the subject of numerous rumors as of late, including ones that suggest Lukaku may be open to the idea of extending his stay at Roma.

In fact, the initial links with a move to Saudi Arabia have been increasingly replaced by rumors claiming Roma may try and keep him on loan for an additional season.

However, Chelsea remain firm in the intent on selling Lukaku this summer.

On the other hand, Il Tempo reports that Roma are yet in no position to make such important decisions regarding the attacker’s future at the club: the Giallorossi must still appoint a new sporting director, with an announcement expected to take place in the coming weeks.

It will be the sporting director’s first task, reports the newspaper, to address Lukaku’s situation.
