Roma to duel with Juventus over Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario

Andy Mattioli

Roma are eyeing Empoli goal-keeper Guglielmo Vicario for the summer.

The latest reports in Italy claim that the Giallorossi are planning to bring in the Italian shot-stopper, replacing Rui Patricio who after two years in the capital will probably look to move on.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma will have to beat the competition in the form of Juventus who are also interested in Vicario.

Empoli’s asking price is around €10 million.

The alternative to Vicario would be Atalanta’s Carnesecchi, currently on loan at Cremonese. However, the Bergamaschi have recently extended his contract until 2026 making him a near impossible transfer target.
