The future of Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains uncertain for the time being, reports Corriere della Sera. However, the Armenian’s recent decision to quit the national team could indicate his willingness to continue his adventure in the Italian capital.
According to the Italian newspaper, the Giallorossi will evaluate all options with regards to Mkhitaryan’s future.
The club may reportedly propose to extend his contract for two more years in order to spread his considerable wages of around €4 million and alleviate the club’s wage bill.
The capital club might want to rely on Mkhitaryan as a veteran presence in the locker room given the 33-year-old’s excellent relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
