Roma to hold discussions for Nicolò Zaniolo’s contract renewal

In absence of offers satisfying Roma’s demands, the capital club are now considering advancing a proposal for Nicolò Zaniolo’s contract renewal to the player’s entourage.

Following a heated transfer window where the 23-year-old was at the centre of several transfer rumours linking him with Tottenham and Juventus, Zaniolo is now open to a stay in the Italian capital, reports Il Tempo.

The player has gained more confidence over the course of Roma’s preseason and is closely working with Jose Mourinho in order to get back to top form.

Roma never forced him out of the club and the club’s demands remained clear and unwavering throughout the summer. Now, the Giallorossi are expected to meet with Claudio Vigorelli – Zaniolo’s agent – and make a concrete proposal for a contract renewal that would further reaffirm his status as one of the club’s key players for years to come.
