Roma are intent on reinforcing their midfield in the upcoming January window, with out-of-favor Lyon player Houssem Aouar being the primary candidate for the job.
As reported by calciomercato.com, the club is still in talks with Aouar’s entourage, and Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto is set to meet with the midfielder’s agents during the international break.
Aouar’s contract with Lyon will expire in June, but the Frenchman could already leave Ligue 1 in January for a small fee. The player’s salary demands are high – around €4.5 million – but could be alleviated thanks to the growth decree.
The player has already expressed his willingness to work with Jose Mourinho, but other options from abroad are still on the line for him: Betis and Sevilla have been tracking the player for the past few months and could also hold talks with him in the coming weeks.
