Roma to pair Daniele De Rossi with OGC Nice executive Florent Ghisolfi

Roma are closing in on their new sporting director who will most likely come from France’s Ligue 1.

In fact, today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma seem to have concluded their 3-month-long search for a new sporting director who will take over Tiago Pinto’s duties. The Giallorossi had been looking for Pinto’s replacement since his decision to leave the club in February.

The newspaper suggests that Nice executive Florent Ghisolfi is in pole position to land the prestigious job in the Italian capital.

The young sporting director seems to have convinced Roma’s upper management and is regarded as a good fit for the club’s long-term plans.

Ghisolfi will be brought in to work closely with head coach Daniele De Rossi who has already made his requests for the summer known to the club. Ghisolfi’s resume includes an impressive record with Lens – whom he helped lead to a historic Champions League qualification, the first one in over twenty years – and Nice who are fighting for a place in the Champions League preliminaries.
