Roma to present study for construction of stadium in Pietralata district

The capital club released an update regarding the construction of Stadio della Roma—the stadium project that has been an ongoing battle since 2014.

Roma’s senior management recently met with members of city’s administration to discuss the project which has been interrupted by a series of bureaucratic red tape.

In their statement, the Giallorossi outlined future plans for the stadium and revealed they’ll publish a feasibility study on the project in the near future. Following a series of joint meetings between the offices of the Capitoline administration and the technicians of AS Roma S.p.A. held in recent months, Roma Capitale positively acknowledges the willingness on the part of the Giallorossi club to present to the Campidoglio in the coming weeks a feasibility study for the construction of a stadium on a municipal area in the Pietralata district.

The initial urbanistic examination carried out on the area identified by AS Roma did not highlight any obstacles to the presentation of the aforementioned project, which will be carefully evaluated by Roma Capitale according to the administrative process governed by the so-called stadium law (art. 1, paragraph 304, Law 147/2013).

AS Roma expresses great satisfaction for the collaborative environment that characterized the meetings with the municipal offices.

Roma Capitale and AS Roma share that the new stadium must represent a driver for the sustainable redevelopment of the Pietralata district without urban aggravation and, more generally, for the development of the Capital.
