Roma to sacrifice Kumbulla to make space for Angelino

Andy Mattioli

Roma are considering the sale of Marash Kumbulla in order to guarantee a roster spot of Leipzig defender Angelino with whom the club have reached an agreement.

The Giallorossi have sealed an agreement with both Angelino and Leipzig for a loan move with option to buy at the end of the season.

However, the Spanish defender – who is currently on loan at Galatasaray – will only be able to join Roma if they manage to secure at least one outgoing transfer.

According to La Repubblica, Marash Kumbulla is the first name on the list destined to exit the Italian capital.

The newspaper reports that Roma GM Tiago Pinto is set to travel to Milan today where he will meet with Kumbulla’s agents.

Kumbulla – despite having been out for several months with an ACL injury – has drawn the interest of three Italian clubs including Cremonese in Serie B. All three clubs want guarantees with regards to the player’s physical and fitness status.
