Roma to secure discount on Wijnaldum’s transfer

Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to return from his fractured tibia injury sometime within the next 4-6 weeks.

The Dutchman suffered the blow during the final portion of a late August training session which sidelined him for nearly five months.

Even though he’s made only one official appearance for the club, Roma want to keep Wijnaldum at the club beyond the expiration of his loan deal in June.

As a result, Giallorossi executive Tiago Pinto will hold talks with the midfielder’s parent club, Paris Saint-Germain, next month.

According to calciomercato.com, Roma hope to secure a discount on Wijnaldum’s transfer due to the player’s expiring contract in 2024.

PSG’s original price-tag of €8 million is expected to be lowered by the French giants who want to part ways with Wijnaldum after an unsuccessful spell for the ex-Liverpool man.
