Roma are working on their next summer signing in Lorenz Assignon.

The 24-year-old right-back is currently in pole position to land a move to the Italian capital not too long after his loan at Burnley.

With Rick Karsdorp set to leave the Giallorossi before the end of the summer, Daniele De Rossi requested specifically a player of Assignon’s caliber to replace the Dutchman.

As things stand, Sportitalia reports that Roma and Rennes are in advanced negotiations with the objective of finalizing an agreement within the next few days.

In the last few hours Roma have started working on a loan with obligation to buy which would be triggered under very simple conditions to reach such as the minimum number of appearances made.

Rennes does not give up and continues to ask for a permanent transfer, but important news could arrive in the next few hours given that the gap between the Giallorossi’s request and offer is decreasing as the days go by.
