Roma to spar with Milan for ‘dream signing’ of Tiago Santos from Lille

Andy Mattioli

Roma are said to have joined the race for ‘dream signing’ Tiago Santos of Lille.

The capital club are on the look-out for reinforcements.

In particular, Roma want to add more fullbacks and wingers to their roster.

With the exits of Spinazzola, Karsdorp and Kristensen, and possibly Zalewski and Celik, the Giallorossi will look to bring in a whole new batch of players.

Several names have been linked with the club over the last few days and the rumor mill insists on Roma now targeting France’s Ligue 1.

It is there that Roma are said to have been monitoring Lille fullback Tiago Santos.

The 21-year-old right-back is one of the most exciting talents to come out of the French top flight.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, Santos is the player who intrigues Roma the most but is also the most difficult one to sign given the fierce competition and Lille’s elevated pricetag.

Di Marzio reports that Daniele De Rossi is a big admirer of Santos and considers him a dream signing.

However, Roma will have to challenge Milan for Santos: the Rossoneri want to bring in the fullback after appointing former Lille boss Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach.
