Roma to start giving Mile Svilar more starting opportunities

Andy Mattioli

Roma are preparing to overhaul their goalkeeper position for next season.

The capital club will eventually move from Rui Patricio who has been the Giallorossi’s goalie for the past three years. In his place, the club are undecided whether to invest heavily into a new shot-stopper or have current back-up, Mile Svilar, slowly grow into the role.

According to Leggo, Roma are planning to further increase Svilar’s starting opportunities beyond the Europa League. This help assess whether the 24-year-old is ready to embrace a long-term role at the club.

In case of a positive response, Roma would seek another back-up goal-keeper with the name of former Roma man Lukasz Skorupski of Bologna being linked as a potential option.
