Roma transfer target Gonçalo Guedes: “I’d like to stay at Valencia.”

Valencia attacker Gonçalo Guedes discussed his club future after being heavily linked with several clubs, including Roma, throughout the season.

Guedes, whose agent is Jorge Mendes, insists he’s happy at the Spanish side and his sole focus remains with them.

“I’m extremely focused on Valencia, we’ve got the Copa del Rey coming up along with several other league matches,” he told COPE.

“I’ll speak to my agent once the season season ends. But we’ll evaluate proposals we receive if they’re good for both myself and Valencia, certainly I’d have to evaluate it.”

He also added, “However, I feel good here. Right now I’m solely focused on Valencia and I want to remain here.”

It remains to be seen what the summer holds for the Portuguese attacker given his precarious contractual situation.

His deal with Valencia expires in June 2023, allowing him to opens talks in January with interested clubs regarding a free transfer.
