Roma ultras display banners protesting against the resumption of Serie A

Lawyer Lorenzo Contucci published photos on his Instagram account of banners displayed throughout the city of Rome that were created by various ultra groups of the Curva Sud.

The theme of these banners is common and also clear: the season must not restart.

The Roma ultra groups are just the latest set of supporters to express their dismay that the Serie A season could actually resume despite the Coronavirus still running rampant throughout the country.

“With the country in this state, we’re against the season restarting”, read one banner.

Italy has been hit especially hard by COVID-19 with over 29,000 confirmed deaths throughout the nation.

While it has not yet been confirmed that the Serie A campaign will begin again, many fear that this will ultimately be the outcome.

Several clubs throughout the country have already been given the OK to resume training this week despite official health and safety protocols not having been agreed to by the league.
