Roma unveiled their latest signing in Danish defender Rasmus Kristensen today.
Kristensen joins Roma on a dry loan from Leeds United until the end of next season.
In his first club interview, Kristensen discussed his decision to join the Giallorossi.
“I am very excited, happy and proud to be part of this great and historic club. I would say that you feel this history when you walk through these corridors and I can’t wait to be a part of it too.”
“You realize that a lot has been won here and that the club has a great history, so I immediately felt a strong sense of admiration for this club and, as I said, I can’t wait to immerse myself in my daily life here in Trigoria.”
“Obviously, my will is also to play in international and European competitions and the successes this club has achieved in recent years have greatly influenced my desire to be part of it, to be part of this path and the direction taken by the club. I believe that the successes achieved by Roma in Europe obviously had a strong influence, but so did the results achieved in national competitions.”
“Every country is different, every culture is different and so is every competition. But I can’t wait to live this adventure. I think I have the age and the experience to start off on the right foot and I hope to adapt very quickly. Clearly there are many aspects to understand and learn when you move to a new city, but, I repeat, I can’t wait and I’ve always liked Italy, so in this sense I’m already very happy to be here.”
“It’s always difficult to describe myself and I usually let people form their opinion, but I’d say I’m a physically strong, powerful defender, capable of running and fighting a lot, but above all, I think I’m a player who gives everything for the team and for the club. Giving 100% is the most important aspect for me. I can give my contribution in various ways, but my most important characteristic is to give my best for the club and for the team.”
“Of course Mourinho is a great coach, one of the best ever, if not the best, so I’m looking forward to working with him, learning and understanding football through his eyes. Like I said before, I can’t wait to start this new journey. I think it’s a huge opportunity for me, and it’s a privilege to play for this club and with this manager and I’ll do everything I can to repay that trust.”
