Roma are aiming to secure the addition of a winger in the final moments of this year’s summer transfer window.
The capital club have opened talks with Milan in recent hours, renewing discussions centered around a swap involving Alexis Saelemaekers and Tammy Abraham.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, talks are well underway with the two clubs ready to set up the deal only two days before the transfer deadline.
The newspaper suggests that Roma’s search for a winger resulted in the Giallorossi targeting Saelemaekers who represents a low-cost but versatile reinforcement.
The Giallorossi reportedly value Saelemaekers for his versatility, work-rate and sacrifice for the team.
The Belgian international can play in multiple roles and has come in handy to former Bologna coach Thiago Motta last year by slotting in on the left wing and also filling in as a fullback and more in the center of the pitch, too.
The clubs have spoken to each other again in the last few hours and will do so again in the next few hours to try to finalize every element of the deal.
