Roma look to get back to winning ways tomorrow when they host newly promoted Lecce tomorrow evening in the Italian capital.
The Giallorossi face-off against Marco Baroni’s men in the final fixture of Serie A matchday nine.
The capital club are coming off a poor midweek performance in the Europa League where they lost to Real Betis. However, they have an opportunity to build on their huge victory from last weekend at the San Siro over Inter.
Meanwhile, Lecce enter the affair unbeaten in 4 of their previous 5 league matches, including an impressive 1-1 away draw versus league-leaders Napoli.
However, Lecce haven’t won an away match at the Stadio Olimpico against Roma since 1986, tallying a record of 0-2-13 in their previous fifteen away trips since.
“It is going to be very difficult to play against a very strong team.” said manager Marco Baroni ahead of the clash.
“They have great quality and are hurt by the recent defeat against Betis. We absolutely have to make a good impression and try and put up a fight.”
“Roma are a very solid team, with crazy physicality, just look at the solutions at their disposal from set-pieces.”
Roma boss Jose Mourinho will be forced to play without captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and right back Zeki Celik, who suffered a knee sprain in the midweek defeat.
As a result, youngster Nicola Zalewski is expected to shift from left to right wingback while Leonardo Spinazzola lines up on the opposite flank.
In attack, Tammy Abraham is expected to lead the attack despite ongoing scoring struggles. He’ll be flanked by leading scorer Paulo Dybala and Nicolo Zaniolo.
Kick-off is scheduled for 20.45 CET in Rome.
