Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches is closing in on a move away from the Italian capital as his loan at Roma is set to be terminated in advance.
The 26-year-old’s spell at Roma was short-lived due to his physical condition and overall poor performances on the pitch.
Over recent weeks, Sanches’ agents have been at work to find him a new team to join where he would be guaranteed more playing time.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Besiktas are in advanced talks both with his parent club – PSG – and his entourage.
The newspaper suggests that it is only a matter of time before Sanches accepts the Turkish side’s proposal.
Roma, on the other hand, wait impatiently for him to accept it as Sanches’ exit would facilitate the completion of an incoming transfer by freeing up space on the club’s wage bill.
With Sanches gone, Roma would immediately launch talks to secure Caglar Soyuncu’s arrival from Atletico Madrid.
