Roma are being linked with Rennes fullback Guéla Doué as the latest name to potentially reinforce Daniele De Rossi’s squad.
The capital club are set for a major overhaul of their fullbacks, with several players set to leave, and as a result are eyeing numerous players on the market.
The latest suggestion from the French top flight is Guéla Doué of Stade Rennais.
Roma technical director Florent Ghisolfi – who is respondible of planning the club’s transfer strategy along with Daniele De Rossi and CEO Lina Souloukou – is very familiar with Doué’s characteristics.
The 21-year-old fullback produced an impressive season for Rennes, collecting 4 assists in all competitions.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Doué is the first name on Ghisolfi’s shopping list in case of Rick Karsdorp’s exit from the Giallorossi.
The Dutch defender is set to leave the club as he is about to enter the final year of his contract.
The newspaper states that with Karsdorp gone, Roma would immediately pounce on Doué.
Like Karsdorp, Doué’s contract with Rennes also expires next year and his pricetag is estimated at €6-7 million.
