The next 48 hours will be critical for Roma’s transfer market.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Giallorossi are waiting on an answer from Manchester United after they submitted a new offer today for defender Chris Smalling — the intermediary for the deal will arrive in the Italian capital on Friday to try and unlock the deal as Roma remain confident in landing the 30 year-old.
The Englishman remains the top priority for the club, but they are also considering a reunion with Antonio Rüdiger of Chelsea. The German international would arrive on loan and is the first alternative to Smalling if a deal cannot be reached.
Meanwhile, Roma are also interested in another Manchester United player: fullback Diogo Dalot.
Milan are also interested in the 21 year-old Portuguese defender and will make a new offer for him after having their first one refused by the Red Devils. The Giallorossi will propose a loan deal for the player.
