Roma want to keep Mile Svilar despite increasing transfer links

Andy Mattioli

Roma are reportedly prioritizing Mile Svilar as their long-term option in goal.

Following Daniele De Rossi’s appointment as the club’s head coach, Svilar was able to overtake veteran Rui Patricio in Roma’s hierarchy and impress everyone – fans and media like – with convincing performances and crucial saves in Europa League and Serie A.

With the season winding to an end, the Giallorossi are already planning to discuss Svilar’s contractual situation and make him their permanent number one choice in goal.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma will soon meet with Svilar’s agent and propose a new deal until 2028 with an improved salary.

The capital club are aware that Svilar is likely to draw interest ahead of the summer with the likes of West Ham and Wolves having already made preliminary inquiries. However, the priority remains extending Svilar’s time in the Italian capital.
