Roma want to keep Tammy Abraham and relaunch him ahead of next season

Roma seem keen on making Tammy Abraham a crucial part of their future plans.

The English striker is still out after suffering a complete ACL tear in June of last year. However, Abraham is nearing the final stages of his recovery.

In fact, the attacker was on the bench on Sunday against Sassuolo – Daniele De Rossi had wanted to make him feel part of the team again and boost his morale.

Now, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Abraham will work to complete his recovery during the international break. The objective is to have him ready to play his first minutes off the bench in the match against Lecce on 1 April.

Moreover, the newspaper reports that Roma will want to keep Abraham beyond this season.

The club consider him a valuable piece of the roster and – since his contract expires in 2026 – want to relaunch him ahead of next season, making him once again their starting striker as Romelu Lukaku is expected to conclude his loan in the Italian capital at the end of the campaign.
