Roma want Zakaria and two defenders

With the third international break of the season fast approaching, Roma will have time to focus on the objectives for the January transfer window.

General Manager Tiago Pinto will assess the situation alongside Jose Mourinho and begin working on the priorities to strengthen the team.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the priority remains Zakaria. Roma are expected to beat the competition by offering Borussia Mönchengladbach €5 million for the Swiss midfielder whose contract expires in June 2022.

The Giallorossi want to give Mourinho an additional full-back. The capital club have already contacted Real Madrid to inquire about Lucas Vasquez.

The 30-year-old winger (who can also slot in as full-back) is well-liked by Mourinho who already tried bringing him to Tottenham in previous years.

Moreover, Roma are considering other names for that position including Feyenoord’s Pedersen and Henrichs of RB Leipzig.

Given Smalling’s questionable physical condition, Tiago Pinto is in talks with Galatasaray over a potential transfer of Marcão. The 25-year-old could be brought in on loan with option to buy.
