Roma will try for Milik in January

Napoli striker Arek Milik did not start yesterday for Poland in their 0-0 draw against Italy. The former Ajax man only featured in the second half of the match and it’s becoming clearer to him that sitting out the entire season with the Partenopei could cost him his role with the national team.

Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma and Milik, who nearly joined the club last month, still have a standing contractual agreement for the striker to join the Giallorossi for free next summer. Although, it’s possible that Milik pushes for a move in January to ensure he does not jeopardise his role with the Polish national team.

Roma will likely try to bring Milik to the Italian capital once the transfer market reopens in the winter, but it won’t be an easy operation.
