After completing their first signing of this transfer window in Rui Patricio, it is time for Roma to move to their second objective. Granit Xhaka has been waiting for the go-ahead from Arsenal for over a month. However, this may soon change.

According to calciomercato.com, Roma have grown impatient with the Gunners who have been holding out on the deal in hopes of cashing in around €20 million. The Roman club’s first and last offer totaled €15 million. However, Roma seem intent on securing the 28-year-old midfielder by next week at the latest.

The Roman club are willing to increase their offer to €18 million. Calciomercato.com report that between today and tomorrow, Roma want to finalize the deal. This way, Xhaka would be able to join the squad in pre-season training as soon as the end of next week. The player is willing to cut short his vacation leave in order to be at Mourinho’s disposal.
